Meet Ziggy & William
Ziggy and William have been part of the Attwell Farm family since 2022.
🌟 Ziggy – The darker of the two, with a shiny coat and a heart full of love! He’s always ready for a cuddle and loves attention from visitors and staff.
🌟 William – A beautiful light palomino pony with a gentle and reserved nature. While he takes his time to trust, he adores having his mane and tail brushed—it’s one of his favorite things!
🏡 Winter Months – Ziggy and William are stabled in the Animal Barn with daily turnout in the woodchip area, where they can roam and play.
🌿 Summer Months – To keep them healthy, we carefully monitor their diet. Shetland ponies are prone to weight gain, so you may see them spending more time in the woodchip area rather than the grass paddocks.
🐴 Small but Mighty! – Despite their tiny size, Shetland ponies are incredibly strong and were originally bred to pull carts and work in tough conditions.
🐴 Great for Children! – Their friendly nature makes them perfect for young visitors! Ziggy, in particular, loves meeting kids.
🐴 Winter Hardy! – Thanks to their thick coats, Shetland ponies can withstand cold weather—a trait from their origins in the Shetland Islands of Scotland.
🐴 Low Maintenance! – While they need regular grooming, Shetland ponies are known for being easy to care for. Their manes and tails tangle easily, so William especially loves a good brush!
🐴 A Little Mischievous! – Shetland ponies are clever and playful! Ziggy is known for his cheeky personality, so don’t be surprised if he tries to sneak in some extra attention!
