Miniature Horses

We have 3 miniature horses here at the Farm Park. Horses are very sociable animals and so our 3 miniature horses all live together. Our horses eat hay and a low sugar horse feed. In the warmer months when the paddocks are dryer the miniature horses get regular turnout and enjoy the grass. It is important to carefully manage our miniature horses food intake as they can be prone to weight gain. A high sugar diet can also cause them to suffer from a disease called Laminitis.

June is the oldest of our 3 miniature horses. She is black and white in colour which is known as piebald. She is a mare which is a female horse. June is very friendly and loves to be stroked, she also loves it when our staff give her a good brush.

Georgina is our brown and white miniature pony, this colour is known as skewbald. Georgina is also a mare. She is very cheeky and loves lots of attention.

Spiderman is the youngest and smallest of our miniature horses. He is also the only male in the group and the girls enjoy bossing him around. Spiderman has a long, thick mane and forelock which is often plaited to keep it tidy and out of his way.
